Ava Brand Refresh & Photography

In 2018, Ava AG decided to refresh its brand for a contemporary audience. While preserving the iconic “mitosis” logo created by myself in 2015, we reimagined the brand’s visual identity to reflect Ava’s evolving mission: bringing women’s health into the 21st century. Working closely with the internal design team, we developed a refined aesthetic that maintained brand recognition while introducing a more modern, approachable tone.

My specific responsibility was to produce lifestyle and product photography that aligned with this new direction. The creative vision centered around a cozy, intimate atmosphere, emphasizing the Ava bracelet as a product meant to be worn comfortably during sleep. I defined the mood, visual tone, and overall look and feel, ensuring cohesion across all assets.

The photoshoot was executed in San Francisco, where I, together with a fellow designer, served as on-site Art Directors. We collaborated with the photographer and models to guide composition, lighting, styling, and emotion – capturing authentic, serene moments that reflected the new brand spirit. The resulting photography was used across Ava’s website and point-of-sale materials.

In addition to the primary shoot, we also created a series of spontaneous, organic, candid visuals as additional content for social media.
